2025 Growing Season

After a long, cold, snowy winter, the spring struggled to shrug off the cold which delayed transplanting into the field.  Some direct seeding didn't germinate so we got off a very slow start and many early crops weren't so early after all.   Despite this huge challenge we grew some amazing veggies for the first weeks.  When the heat finally came, it seemed to be playing catch up and we experienced lots of heat and humidity.  Greens like rapini bolted in the heat.  Fortunately, with our drip irrigation system we were able to capitalize on this and grow some amazing veggies through the hot summer.  Crops like tomatoes and zucchini need daily harvest to keep up!  The summer just seemed to keep going which extended many crops into October.   We were even able to offer an additional 3 weeks we called "bounty bags" to our CSA members after the 16 week season ended.  Overall 2025 was a challenging but fruitful growing season.
Below is what we harvested each week.  A selection of which formed our weekly CSA farm share.

Spring Bounty - Weeks 1 - 4

Early season vegetables are direct seeded and transplanted.  Timing depends on weather. Some can be seeded well before last frost and other need a minimum amount of warmth to germinate.  It's tricky dance with Mother Nature, never sure who is taking the lead.
