We are seeking a passionate and experienced organic vegetable grower to oversee all aspects of our small-scale no-till market garden. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful cultivation, harvesting, and delivery of high-quality produce for our CSA program.
Crop Planning and Coordination
Implement a comprehensive crop plan
Oversee seed starting, transplanting, and direct seeding operations.
Monitor crop growth and address potential issues
Implement sustainable farming practices
Field Maintenance:
Prepare and maintain garden beds
Install and maintain irrigation systems
Construct and repair garden structures
Harvesting and Post-Harvest Handling:
Coordinate and supervise harvesting operations
Properly clean and package harvested produce
Maintain accurate records of crop yields and harvest
CSA Program Management:
Work closely with the farm manager and owners to coordinate the CSA program
Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Harvest Helper to assist with various tasks on our small-scale market garden. This part-time position is perfect for individuals who love working outdoors and have a passion for sustainable agriculture.
Harvesting:
Pick fresh produce according to harvest schedules, ensuring quality and quantity.
Sort and clean harvested crops.
Package vegetables for distribution to CSA members.
Field Work:
Weed and cultivate garden beds.
Assist with planting and transplanting seedlings.
Water plants as needed.
Monitor crop health and identify potential issues.
Other Tasks:
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the garden and packing area.
Assist with other farm tasks as needed, such as compost turning, livestock care, or tool maintenance.
Follow direction and instructions from the Market Garden Coordinator and/or Farm Manager
Contract seasonal part-time position, MUST be available from:
May 5 to June 15, 2025. 16 hrs/week
June 16 to Aug 29, 30 hrs/week
Hour wage $18.00 per hour.
