Organic Vegetables

We grow all our vegetables using organic practices.  While we may still use some machinery to establish the field beds, once they are in place they disturbed as little as possible. We use broadforks to break up compacted soil, we use our own compost (thanks to our livestock and other food scraps), and we buy seeds from reputable providers that can help us understand and support the needs of the plants. We use a drip irrigation system with water from the well, and we plan our crops on a 4-year crop-rotation plan. We aim to maximize the season in outdoor growing while providing a well rounded selection of familiar and fun produce to cook with and try.

Flowers

We grow flowers as a garden product (cut flower bouquets) and to help support pollinators on the farm and make the space prettier to look at and walk through. Our Native Plant Garden and Corner Flower Patch are permanent sections of our garden that include flowers. Flowers in the middle of the field or in the garden beds are planted with companion planting methods to help manage pests and minimize plant damage.
